  • Account Switching: Fixed an issue where switching accounts could keep the previous account active instead of switching.

Marketplace

Solution deprecations

Deprecated

The following integrations have been deprecated and removed from Azion Marketplace:

  • Saffe Liveness Detection
  • Saffe Face Detection
  • Saffe ID Matching

These integrations are being retired because they no longer integrate with the platform as well as they used to. If you already have any of them installed, they’ll continue working as expected — only new installations are blocked.

Bot Manager 1.3.0 and Bot Manager Lite 0.2.0

New versions of Bot Manager are available for both the Lite and standard (formerly “Advanced”) plans. Highlights include:

  • Nine new static rules.
  • A new good_fingerprint_list argument, which allows listed fingerprints to bypass Bot Manager validation.
  • A new block_ai_bots argument, which blocks known AI user agents automatically.

To get the new Lite version, launch it through the Marketplace. The standard version remains available on demand, upon request to the Service Delivery team.

Version 2.0.0

Breaking Changes

This major release migrates the Azion Terraform Provider to API v4, bringing improved performance, new features, and a more consistent resource management experience.

API Version Migration

  • Version 2.0.0+: Supports Azion API v4 only
  • Version 1.41.0 and earlier: Supports Azion API v3

If you are currently using API v3, you must remain on version 1.41.0 or earlier, or update your configurations to be compatible with API v4.

Removed Resources and Data Sources

Resources and data sources that no longer exist in API v4 have been removed, such as origins and domains.

Build system modernization (tsup → Vite):

Because tsup was discontinued, the build system across packages was modernized:

  • Build tooling: Migrated compilation/build from tsup to Vite across all packages. Added vite and vite-plugin-dts as root dev dependencies. Added per-package vite.config.mjs with internal aliasing and custom config.

Azion released Bot Manager 1.2.0, featuring a new fingerprinting engine that enhances device identification accuracy.

What’s New

  • Advanced Fingerprinting Engine: The new engine reduces fingerprinting collisions (different devices being assigned the same fingerprint), improving the calibration process for your Bot Manager implementation.

Implementation Notes

If you’re already using Bot Manager, the function code has been automatically updated to version 1.2.0. However, to activate the new fingerprinting engine, you need to update your JSON Args configuration:

Azion Edge Functions now supports WebSocket Proxy, allowing your Edge Application to act as a full WebSocket server or client and proxy bidirectional traffic to backend services. This unlocks real-time use cases such as chat, multiplayer games, telemetry dashboards, and AI inference streams—all served directly from the Edge for sub-second latency.

Important: To activate this feature, enable the Websocket Proxy subscription module on the target Edge Application in the Console or via API. Without this package, Cells cannot accept or proxy WebSocket connections.

  • Server & client modes: Use upgradeWebSocket() for server-side handlers or the standard WebSocket(url) API for outbound connections.
  • Broadcast helpers: Easily fan-out messages to all connected clients with minimal code.
  • Metrics & logs: New events (websocket.connection.accepted, message.sent, message.received) are available in Real-Time Metrics and LogStream.
  • Edge Firewall support: Traffic can be inspected by Edge Firewall rules before upgrade is finalized.

Simple Storage Service (S3) connector

Now, when configuring a Simple Storage Service (S3) connector to receive data from Data Stream, file names will be composed of:

  • Object Key Prefix: the prefix for the uploaded object’s name. Example: user/logs.
  • Date and time the packets are sent in the YYYY/MM/DD/hh/mm/ format.
  • UUID: a unique request identifier.

Example: user/logs/2024/10/12/06/24/37d66e78-c308-4006-9d4d-1c013ed89276.

This structure simplifies log management and monitoring by enabling precise searches and filtering using the date, time, and UUID.

Microsoft Entra as IdP and Automated user provisioning integration

Using Microsoft Entra Identity Provider (IdP), you can authorize single sign-on (SSO) to access other sites or services, such as Azion. Your users can continue using their corporate user identities without remembering a specific password or entering credentials each time they access Azion’s platform.

Additionally, with Microsoft Entra, you can enable Automated User Provisioning to streamline identity and access management by automatically creating, updating, and deleting user accounts across applications based on changes in Microsoft Entra ID. Additionally, you can now schedule the deletion of an Object Storage bucket with objects inside by using the --force flag:

  • If you try to delete a bucket with objects inside, the platform will delete everything and schedule the bucket to be deleted after 24 hours (the time needed to delete a bucket after it’s emptied).
  • Next time you run a command after 24 hours, the deletion will be executed.

Fingerprint

The new Fingerprint integration enables you to capture device and network data to better identify devices accessing your applications.

This integration includes two features:

  • A browser-level script (optional) to capture the browser data and set it as a session cookie.
  • An function (mandatory) to capture connection-related data as well as the “frontend fingerprint” (created by the browser script) to create the session fingerprint.

The collected data is used to generate a unique identifier and add it as a request header in other integrations and use cases.

Azion Bot Manager Lite

Preview

The Azion Bot Manager Lite integration is now available in the Marketplace, in the Preview stage. The integration uses an Edge Firewall’s function to analyze each request; then, it assigns to the request a score based on a set of rules and behaviors. If the score is equal to or greater than the predetermined threshold, the integration can take actions like denying or dropping the request.

GraphQL

Azion now provides a Grafana plugin integration available for local installation. With it, you can use Grafana’s interface to create dashboards and complement your metrics visualization. Your dashboards can be created using GraphQL queries. You can use it to view and create:

  • Top X metrics (such as IP addresses or blocked countries).
  • Security metrics.
  • Customized alerts.
  • Specific status codes.

It queries data from Real-Time Metrics and Real-Time Events, which use the GraphQL APIs.
